Guangdong Huizhou, July 15, 2025 — ExxonMobil announced today the successful start-up of its Huizhou ethylene project, with multiple production lines meeting specification requirements, which will help meet the demand for polymers and household products in the Chinese market.

ExxonMobil's Huizhou complex includes a flexible-feed steam cracker with an annual capacity of 1.6 million tons of ethylene, two high-performance linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) units each with an annual output of 1.2 million tons, one of the world's largest single low-density polyethylene (LDPE) units with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons, and two differentiated high-performance polypropylene (PP) units each with an annual output of 950,000 tons.

The polymers produced at this base can be used in consumer goods fields such as packaging, automotive, hygiene products and personal care, as well as other application areas.
